Spencer L. Griffith, Psy.D.

With over 20 years of therapeutic experience, I received my Doctorate of Clinical Psychology in 2002, and have been a Licensed Psychologist since 2003. My background in nursing studies and experience working in hospital settings gives me a unique perspective on the mind-body connection. I was also a Professor of Abnormal Psychology at Portland State University for 3 years.

My individual therapy strategies include specialized training in using Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) , Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and psychodynamic methods. I have received advanced training in couples techniques, including use of the empirically supported methods developed by the Gottman Institute.

I am an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA) , having served on the Board of Directors for the Oregon Psychological Association (OPA) and Chair of OPA’s Professional Affairs Committee.
