Spencer L. Griffith, Psy.D.


With over 15 years of therapeutic experience, I received my Doctorate of Clinical Psychology in 2002, and have been a Licensed Psychologist since 2003. My background in nursing studies and experience working in hospital settings gives me a unique perspective on the mind-body connection. I was also a Professor of Abnormal Psychology at Portland State University for 3 years. 

My individual therapy strategies include specialized training in using Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) , Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and psychodynamic methods. I have received advanced training in couples techniques, including use of the empirically supported methods developed by the Gottman Institute.

I am an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA) , on the Board of Directors for the Oregon Psychological Association (OPA) and Chair of OPA’s Professional Affairs Committee.

Location & Directions


My office is located in the award winning Orenco Station in Hillsboro, Oregon. It is conveniently situated next to shops, restaurants and the New Seasons Market. My suite is on the 2nd floor, right above the Starbucks.

Driving on Highway 26, take the Cornelius Pass exit south to Cornell Road. Ample parking available. Riding the Max, exit at the Orenco Station stop and head 1 block north.
